SaskTel and the federal government are investing $3.7 million dollars to upgrade internet services in a handful of northern communities.
As a result, Black Point, Jeannette Lake and Michel Village will all see faster broadband services.
The investment will also see the network capacity from Points North to Fond du Lac doubled.
SaskTel says the work will commence in coming weeks with completion expected by the end of March 2022.
Ottawa is providing $2.1 million through its Connect to Innovate program which aims to improve high-speed digital internet networks in Canadian communities.
SaskTel’s investment is part of larger commitment of $1.4 billion over five years to improve communications services in the province.
