Newly released federal government data shows violent crime continues to be a problem in Prince Albert.
Out of 300 municipalities with a population over 10,000 in Canada, the city ranked fifth in terms of violent crime numbers in 2020.
This is a slight decrease from the previous year when Prince Albert ranked third overall.
For non-violent crime, the city ranked tenth in the country – also slightly down from 2019 when this number was ninth.
For crime numbers overall, the city went to seventh in 2020 down from sixth in 2019.
The data was compiled by the Canadian Centre for Justice and Community Safety Statistics.
