Prince Albert Police have arrested a man wanted for an armed robbery on Little Red River Reserve.

Police took Glen Frederick Halkett into custody Monday morning in the city after they were called to the 100 block of 26th Street West about a man trying to break into a vehicle. Police said they eventually got a second call about damage to a vehicle on the 2700 Block of 2nd Avenue West where they found Halkett and arrested him after a short foot pursuit.

The search for Halkett led to an increased RCMP presence on the Sturgeon Lake First Nation where police were searching for him last week.

Along with the previous charges, Halkett is now also charged with willful damage and theft under $5,000. He is set to appear in court in Prince Albert Wednesday.
