Saskatchewan reported 405 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday.
At only 393 vaccinations, for the second day in a row more people also tested positive for the virus than were vaccinated.
At 181, there are now more patients in hospital than has been the case since late April when the third wave was at its peak.
A total of 227 of the new cases are in northern zones.
According to federal statistics, Saskatchewan also now has the worst rate of infection of any province in the country overtaking Alberta.
According to these statistics, the rate of infection in the province over the last seven days per 100,000 population is 210.
A total of 615 people in the province have died as a result of COVID-19 since the pandemic began.
