The Government of Saskatchewan is giving school divisions grants to advance truth and reconciliation education.
Each of the province’s 27 divisions, one partnership school and an independent school will get up to $5,000.
This is to support collaboration with Indigenous communities and organizations to decide on actions that support reconciliation in schools.
Some of the plans already proposed include Indigenous land-based learning and Indigenous education training.
In total, the province is providing $140,000 for the grants.
