A man from Big River First Nation is facing a total of 14 charges after an investigation by police which started after a pair of armed robberies early last month.
Big River RCMP said on March 5 and 17 they were made aware of two vehicles being stolen at gun point. No one was hurt in either incident.
Through their investigation police eventually determined that 27 year old Brandon Whitefish was involved and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Whitefish was eventually tracked down by police where he was in a vehicle driving on Highway 55 on April 2. According to RCMP the vehicle wouldn’t stop and eventually drove to a home on the Big River First Nation where Whitefish was eventually arrest with help from RCMP Dog Services and the provincial Crime Reduction Team.
RCMP said Whitefish is in custody and is set to be in court April 13 in Prince Albert.
Police are also seeking two other suspects in the March 5 armed robbery. Warrants have been issued for Joseph Rabbitskin and Chantelle Lachance. Anyone with information their either of their whereabouts is asked to call RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
