The Red Earth Cree Nation said it is optimistic that it will locate missing five-year old Frank Young.
Day two of the search has turned full-scale as the little boy was last seen playing in the front yard Tuesday at approximately 12:30. There are unconfirmed reports that Frank was spotted at a nearby playground at 3:30 PM.
RCMP SGT Richard Tonge said Mounties have searched two main areas, that being the playground and near Frank’s home. Drones are being utilized to search in areas difficult to access by foot. A police dog is also on site and an RCMP plane is expected to be in operation later today. Tonge explained that the RCMP has asked residents to search their homes, out buildings and vehicles for the missing boy.
A search crew with the Prince Albert Grand Council is looking in a river north of Frank’s home, also combing the shoreline for clues.
Red Earth Cree Nation Vice-Chief Barry McKay said the search will continue for Frank until he is found. McKay said it was too early to determine if abduction is a possibility.
Weather is a factor in the search as cold temperatures, snow and wind are reported in the area. Frank was last seen wearing Paw Patrol rubber boots, green pajamas with dinosaurs on them and a navy blue windbreaker-style jacket.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of missing five-year-old Frank Young is asked to contact the Carrot River RCMP.
