Battleford RCMP have charged one man with assault after a man was attacked while dropping of a trailer at a home in the town this past weekend.
In a media release RCMP said 46-year-old Adam Lesmeister of Battleford was arrested on Tuesday and charged with one count of assault.
RCMP said they were called about the assault early Sunday evening to a home on 0-100 block of 17th Street East in Battleford. Police said a man was dropping off a trailer at a home when he was approached by three men who he did not know, one of the men then assaulted him. Police said all three men left before they arrived on the scene. RCMP said the victim was treated for non life threatening injuries.
The incident occurred at the home of lawyer Eleanor Sunchild and was captured by surveillance cameras at the home which was shared online.

The Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations (FSIN) issued a statement Tuesday condemning the attack and also called on RCMP to bring charges against those involved.
Lesmeister is set to appear in court August 22. RCMP say their investigation is continuing and they are asking anyone with information to contact Battleford RCMP at 306-446-1720 or Crime Stoppers.
