The Metis-Nation Saskatchewan is providing up to $3.5 million dollars to help enhance early childhood learning programs.
Métis Locals across the province can apply for the Early Learning and Child Care Community Enhancement program.
Approved communities will then be proved $50,000 to use for early learning programs.
“The needs of our citizens drive our Métis Nation–Saskatchewan government,” said MN–S President Glen McCallum. “Métis language programs, learning from our Elders, and land-based learning leads to Métis children grounded in our Métis culture, values and language.”
“Along with our children, Métis families, educators and communities will also benefit from this programming,” added MN–S Minister of Early Learning and Child Care Tim Roussin. “This work contributes to brighter futures and children who become strong Métis leaders in their communities.”
The MN-S announced the program on Thursday.
