The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit has announced charges against four adults and two youths in the death of Edgar Ratt.
The investigation began on July 21 when police were called to a home on Jack Bell Place in Bell’s Point about an assault. Police said once they got there they found Ratt injured, he was taken to hospital but died due to his injuries.
Charged with first degree murder in Ratt’s death are Cameron Ross, 23, Charmaine Charles, 21, Gracie Isbister, 20 and Katelyn Halkett, 21 along with a female youth and a male youth who are both 17. Besides the murder charges the six also face charges for breaking and entering. Isbister and the female youth are also facing additional charges for uttering threats, while the male youth, who is not yet in custody, faces an additional charge related to covering his face to commit a crime.
The five people charged and in custody were set to be in La Ronge Provincial Court Thursday morning.
