The lawyer for one of nine people charged in the death of a 30-year-old Saskatoon woman says she will formally plead guilty next month to committing an indignity to human remains.
The lawyer told Saskatoon provincial court on Tuesday that Jessica Badger will make the plea on March 1st, when the Crown and defence will also make a joint sentencing submission.
The lawyer for Greg Curtis earlier announced his client also plans to plead guilty to the same charge on March 1st. Last month, the lawyer for John Wayne Sanderson indicated the same thing, with all three planning on entering guilty pleas on that day to the charge of indignity to human remains.
Seven other suspects face charges in the death of Megan Gallagher — including four who were charged with first-degree murder after she disappeared in 2020 and her remains were discovered last September. Others have been charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault.
Preliminary hearings have been set for the remaining accused at various points this fall.
