The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) has charged a third person in the death of Jeremy Starblanket.
In a media release sent out Friday afternoon P.A. Police said 25-year-old Keyano Ahenakew of Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation had been arrested and is facing a charge of first degree murder in relation to Starblanket’s death.
Ahenakew, who made his first court in Prince Albert Provincial Court Friday morning, is the third person charged in relation to Starblanket’s death in March of 2021. Previously police have charged Loretta Sakebow with second degree murder and Henry Ratt with first degree murder in Starblanket’s death.
The charges date back to March of 2021 when police were called to a home in the city on the 500 block of Fifth Street E about an explosion and fire. When firefighters put out the fire they found someone dead inside who was later identified as Starblanket.
PAPS said their criminal investigation division is continuing to investigate.
