The Metis Nation-Saskatchewan says it will invest $1.5 million into Northern housing.
Eight-new affordable housing units will be constructed in Ile a la Crosse. “We hear from citizens in all regions of the province, north, south and central, who tell us about inadequate living conditions and housing shortages in their communities. Today’s announcement is a step in the right direction, but much more is needed,” said MN-S President Glan McCallum.
The money invested into Ile a la Crosse will create six single-bedroom and two three-bedroom units.
As well, the Village of Ile a la Crosse is also expected to construct six tiny homes and two three-bedroom houses starting this spring. That project is expected to be completed next year.
