The Prince Albert Police Service (PAPS) announced Thursday they had arrested and charged a 55-year-old man in relation to the death of Taya Sinclair.
PAPS said Michael Smillie was arrested at Wednesday in Saskatoon and appeared in Saskatoon Provincial Court Thursday morning. Police said he is charged with first degree murder in relation to Sinclair’s death.
Sinclair’s body was found on March 15 2022 behind the Alfred Jenkins Field House in Prince Albert.
Besides Smillie, police have also charged Stephanie Halkett-Stevenson with first degree murder while Chelsey Crowe is charged with manslaughter.
Police said the investigation is continuing.
