Public health officials in the north have rescinded a wildfire smoke advisory for Fond du Lac.
The Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority issued the advisory July 28, but said the region now has sustained air quality improvement.
Residents in Fond du Lac are starting to make their way home. One week ago, approximately 300 people were evacuated from that northern community over health concerns from wildfire smoke.
Repatriation began over the long-week and 40 members were returned yesterday.
Indigenous Services Canada said the remaining members will head home this weekend. The Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency reports that there is no local fire activity of concern.
