Representatives from the Metis Nation Saskatchewan were in a celebratory mood Tuesday morning.
The Nation was celebrating the grand opening of the Ma Faami centre in Saskatoon.
Ma Faami is a location Metis citizens can go to get connected to culturally safe programs and services they need.
“Relationship building is the key to success and about meeting our Metis citizens at the community level,” said MNS President Glen McCallum at the grand opening. “Ma Faami represents what our citizens have told us they need – a warm, supportive space to connect with others and access programs and assistance needed.”

Ma Faami is located on Avenue B South in Saskatoon just west of downtown.
The MN-S says they will continue to monitor the facilities effectiveness and improve the model as they can. The plan is for six of these types of facilities to be opened in th province – two in northern Saskatchewan.
