RCMP have charged two people in relation to a dangerous person alert issued last week at Montreal Lake Cree Nation.
Police said they were called to the First Nation this past Thursday after a gun was fired outside a home. When officers got to the scene they found a man who was suffering from what they called serious injuries. The man was taken to hospital.
RCMP said their investigation eventually found that there had been a confrontation between the victim and two men.
Eventually police were able to find and arrest both suspects, who were both in Montreal Lake.
27-year-old Deon Smith and 29-year-old Justice Bird are both facing three charges including aggravated assault, assault with a weapon and discharging a firearm with intent.
Both men made their first court appearances Monday in Prince Albert Provincial Court.
