Today marks the 21st annual Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon.

Today and tomorrow Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital’s Radiothon will be taking over air waves across Saskatchewan.

Their goal is to raise funds to help support sick children across the province. This year the main goal of the hospital is to enhance the provincial pediatric intensive care unit which is an essential hub for the province.

The provincial pediatric care unit provides better access to pediatric transports for children living in rural and remote communities, allowing specialists to provide care for kids remotely with virtual robotics to keep them closer to home, new cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art new equipment.

“The Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital and the Jim Pattison Foundation has been such a phenomenal support.” Said Larrisa Bayet whose daughter is a patient at the hospital. “They not only support Zandria in her continuity of care and her journey to help her thrive but they help me understand how I can support her better,”

The Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital is the home of the only pediatric intensive care unit in Saskatchewan. The hospital sees over 80,000 sick kids each year for an average of 220 patients each day.

“At the end of the day it really is about healing Saskatchewan kids with Saskatchewan care and giving hope for a real stronger future for them, the Children’s Hospital is not a hotel it is a hospital, it saves lives,” Explained CEO of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Brynn Boback-Lane.

The 2023 Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Radiothon will be live on the radio from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and tomorrow.
