RCMP have arrested a third person in relation to the death of a man in La Ronge on Nov. 8.

In a media release sent out Wednesday afternoon police said they arrested 35-year-old John McDonnell in La Ronge this past Tuesday. McDonnell, who is from Lac La Ronge Indian Band, is charged with manslaughter in the death of a man who was found injured in a home in La Ronge. The man was taken to hospital where he died due to his injuries. The victim has since been identified as 42-year-old Randy Halkett, who was also from Lac La Ronge Indian Band.

Two other people, 28-year-old Jared Gale and 24-year-old Garrett McDonnell, both of Lac La Ronge Indian Band, are also charged with manslaughter in relation to Halkett’s death. The two have both been arrested and made court appearances last week.

John McDonnell is set to make his first court appearance Thursday in La Ronge Provincial Court.
