The first trials have been set for the accused in the death of Megan Gallagher.
Gallagher, went missing in Saskatoon in 2020 and her remains were found in the south Saskatchewan River nearly two years later.
Her family will now have to wait another year for the first trials of those accused in her killing.
Roderick Sutherland, who is charged with first-degree murder, has elected to have a jury trial at Saskatoon Court of King’s Bench staring on March 31, 2025.
While Thomas Sutherland, who is charged with manslaughter, has also chosen to have a jury trial at Saskatoon Court of King’s Bench with his trial set to start on April 28, 2025.
Three more people charged with the first-degree murder of Gallagher are still waiting for trial dates to be set.
Three additional people were sentence this past year after pleading guilty to offering an indignity to human remains.
