RCMP Major Crimes is investigating a death on Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation.
Police said they were called Thursday afternoon about an injured man at a home in the community. When they arrived RCMP said they found an injured 32-year-old man who was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene. The man has been identified as Dedrick Stick of Island Lake First Nation.
Investigators have found there was an altercation involving a number of people at a different home on the First Nation where Stick was hurt. He was able to get away to a neighboring home where he succumbed to his injuries.
Residents of the First Nation are being asked to report any suspicious activity they may have witnessed Thursday afternoon to police.
