The member of parliament for Desnethé-Missinippi-Churchill River has resigned from his role in the opposition shadow cabinet.
In a letter posted to his X account Friday, Gary Vidal said he had made the decision to resign as his party’s shadow minister for Indigenous Services Canada, a role he has served in since 2022. He said he informed Conservative Party leadership of his decision Thursday.
The letter does not provide a reason for the resignation. However, Vidal said he is looking forward to continuing to serve as the member of parliament for northern Saskatchewan.
Vidal has been in parliament since winning election in 2019 and was re-elected in the 2021 federal election.
