Prince Albert Police are calling on the public for information following a serious car crash yesterday afternoon.
Police, the Prince Albert Fire Department, and Parkland Ambulance responded to the intersection of 6th Avenue East and 22nd Street East for a two-vehicle collision at around 3 p.m.
Upon arrival, two heavily damaged vehicles, a car and a truck, were observed.
Police say the car was turning east onto 22nd Street East when it was struck at a high rate of speed by the northbound truck.
The driver of the car, an 83-year-old woman, was transported to Victoria Hospital and later airlifted to Saskatoon via STARS, where she remains in serious but stable condition.
The driver of the truck, a 22-year-old man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries, received medical attention at the scene, and was arrested.
He faces charges of dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm and criminal negligence in the operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
He made his first court appearance today at Prince Albert Provincial Court.
Police continue to investigate the incident and ask anyone with information or recordings from the 2200–2400 blocks of 6th Avenue East to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
