The RCMP is investigating the impersonation of police officers at a traffic stop on Onion Lake Cree Nation this week.
Mounties say, three individuals wearing balaclavas pulled a vehicle over using a black SUV with red and blue lights.
RCMP say the individuals demanded identification from the motorists, who were eventually able to continue on their way after the encounter.
It was noted the individuals were not wearing clothing that resemble an RCMP uniform.
Police are reminding the public it is illegal to impersonate a police officer.
They are also reminding the public they can request identification from RCMP officers, and can also call the RCMP to verify the identity of any officer.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
