RCMP say a pedestrian is dead after being hit by a police vehicle.
Thursday morning around 3:30 officers had been in Turnor Lake when they got a call for service in Buffalo Narrows.
Police say one of the officers was travelling on a grid road and hit the pedestrian. This was said to have happened several kilometres from the Highway 155/grid road junction.
The officer called for an ambulance, but the man was declared deceased by EMS at the scene.
The victim has been identified as a 31-year-old man from Clearwater River Dene Nation.
The province’s Serious Indident Response Team is investigating. They will investigate the circumstances around the collision and the man’s death.
