Theron Morin, son of Jean LaChance, is making a plea to the public to help solve his mother’s homicide.

On September 18, 2024, Victim Services, Criminal Investigations Division, and Elder Liz Settee met Jean LaChance’s son, Theron Morin, who was four years old at the time of his mother’s homicide. The gathered at the Jean LaChance memorial bench, which is located in the 2800 block of 10th Avenue west in Prince Albert. This year marks 33 years since her homicide.

“To anyone who knows anything regarding my mom, any information, anything at all, whether you think it is small or everything is helpful,” explained Theron Morin in a video recorded plea. “To the person involved, who is listening to this, know that I forgive you and my family forgives you.”

The Prince Albert Police Service continues to investigate the homicide of Jean LaChance.

“Although time has passed, investigative technology and techniques have significantly advanced, making me hopeful we can find the person responsible and give the family of Jean LaChance closure,” said Sergeant Aaron Anderson, Historical Crimes and Missing Persons Unit.

On September 14, 1991, at approximately 2:00 a.m., 29-year-old Jean LaChance was last seen in the 3500 block of 2nd Avenue West in Prince Albert. The next day, on September 15, at approximately 8:00 a.m., LaChance was found deceased in a wooded area south of the Victoria Hospital. Jean LaChnace left behind five children, who are now adults, that continue to look for answers.
