As election day has come to an end, here’s some updates to wrap up the preliminary ballot count which took place on October 28, 2024, in Saskatchewan.

The Saskatchewan Party has 35 seats, and the NDP has 26 seats as of the end of the day.

It’s pretty safe to say that the Saskatchewan Party will have majority government in this 2024 provincial election.

According to the Elections Saskatchewan website, a total of 439,771 votes were cast. There were a total of 810,816 registered voters and 829,884 eligible voters. That means 52.99% of eligible voters voted.

No mail-in ballots were counted.

99.9% of voting stations have reported, and 60 of 61 constituencies have done their count.

Northern Saskatchewan is looking orange with the NDP taking the lead and, ultimately can say unofficially won seats for their ridings.

Athabasca: Leroy Laliberte, NDP, has 1788; Jim Lemaigre, Saskatchewan Party, with 1005; and Raven Reed, Green Party, with 44.

Cumberland: Jordan McPhail, NDP, has 2230; Gregory Seib, Saskatchewan Party, with 1575; Swichis Bird-Paddy, Green Party, with 164; and Nasser Dean Chalifoux, Independent, with 49.

There is still the final count that will take into account late mail-in ballots and special ballots.

The final count will be announced on November 9, 2024.
