UPDATE: November 4, 2024

The human remains that were located in Prince Albert on October 16, 2024, in a wooded area in the 400 block of 19th street eaast have been identified as 41 year-old Darcy Rabbitskin.

A forensic anthropologist and forensic pathologist assisted in the investigation in identifying the remains.

Rabbitskin was reported missing to the Prince Albert Police Service by family on October 22, 2024, after a media release was issued on October 17, 2024, advising the public that human remains had been located.

Rabbitskin’s family last saw him in July 2024.

The Prince Albert Police Service interacted with Darcy Rabbitskin on July 16, 2024. At that time Rabbitskin was wearing a purple and blue t-shirt, blue jeans, grey shoes, and had long dark hair.

The Prince Albert Criminal Investigations Division are continuing to investigate the circumstances of Rabbitskin’s death.

On October 16, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., the Prince Albert Police Service received a report of a deceased person located in the 400 block of 19th Street East.

On arrival, police located human remains, which have yet to be identified.

Police remain on scene as the Prince Albert Police Service Forensic Identification Section and Criminal Division continue to investigate, along with the Office of the Chief Coroner.

An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, 2024, where a forensic anthropologist and a forensic pathologist will assist police to determine the identity of the deceased person.

Investigators have notified loved ones of individuals who were previously reported missing in Prince Albert and have not yet been located.

This investigation is ongoing, and an update will be provided as soon as more information becomes available.
