The Okemaysim family from Beardy’s and Okemasis’ Cree Nation, with the support of Sturgeon Lake First Nation, is urgently seeking volunteers to assist in the search for Orlando Okemaysim.
On January 1, at approximately 2:00 p.m., Prince Albert RCMP state that 50-year-old Okemaysim was reported missing.
He was last seen on the evening of December 24, 2024 on Sturgeon Lake First Nation.
Okemaysim is described as approximately 5’9” tall and 240 lbs. He has brown eyes, medium-length black hair, wears glasses, and was last seen wearing a blue wool jacket and running shoes.

The Okemaysim family are looking for people with snowmobiles, ATVs, or horses to help search the surrounding areas.
Volunteers are asked to check in at the Sturgeon Lake Band Office boardroom, which has been set up as the command post.
All search efforts must be coordinated through this location to ensure safety and efficiency.

We also need supplies to support volunteers. Items such as sandwich meats, bread, coffee, sugar, creamer, bottled water, paper plates, bowls, and cutlery can be dropped off at Sandra Gamble’s or Velmar Ermine’s homes.
Do not search on your own—this is an organized effort, and all volunteers must work through the command post.
