The Prince Albert Police Service Crime Reduction Team has concluded a drug trafficking investigation with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team, Proactive Policing Unit, Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team, and Patrol members.
Police stated that on January 17, members of the Emergency Response Team conducted enforcement action on a group of people believed to be trafficking cocaine at a residence in the 500 block of 5th Street East.
A total of five people were arrested and a search conducted by the Crime Reduction Team resulted in the following seizures:
– Loaded Glock 9mm pistol
– $9510 CAD
– 290 grams of soft cocaine
– 255 grams of crack cocaine
– Three cell phones
– Two scales
– Other paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking
As a result of the investigation police stated that, a 19-year-old Kitchener man, Mofe Etchie and a 21-year-old Surrey man, Javon Minott are facing a total of 23 charges relating to trafficking a controlled substance, as well as a number of firearms offences.
39-year-old Troy Natewayes has been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and 38-year-old Sarah Nelson has been charged with a breach of conditional sentence order.
One person was released without charges.
