Bill C40, also known as David and Joyce Milgard’s law recently passed royal assent in Ottawa.

The new law will see the formation of an independent, publicly funded, body to review wrongful conviction applications.

Ron Dalton, the co-President of Innocence Canada spoke with MBC News about the new legislation and how it will help what they do to exonerate those who are wrongfully convicted.

Dalton also spoke on the case of Odelia and Nerissa Quewezance, two Saskatchewan sisters, whose murder convictions from 1993 are currently under federal review.
