From a news release, the Prince Albert Police Service is releasing a photo of a suspect in relation to an aggravated assault/assault with a weapon Monday afternoon.

On February 24, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., police were called to the intersection of 3rd Avenue East and 11th Street East for a weapons call. Initial information stated a male was attempting to stab someone with a machete.

Officers quickly arrived on the scene and located a male suffering from injuries consistent with an assault; he was treated on the scene and taken to the hospital by Parkland Ambulance with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival; however, officers were able to view video surveillance of the assault where the suspect struck the victim numerous times with a machete while trying to take his backpack. The suspect then fled eastbound in an alley on 11th Street East.

The suspect is described as male, wearing a black winter jacket, a grey hoodie over his head, a black hat, black boots, black pants, and yellow work gloves.
