On January 28, 2025, La Ronge RCMP were conducting proactive patrols in La Ronge.
Officers conducted a traffic stop and determined the driver had a suspended license and was on warrants from Île-à-la-Crosse RCMP.
The officer also observed drug paraphernalia in plain view in the vehicle.
As a result of continued investigation, officers located and seized approximately 124 grams of cocaine and a large sum of cash in the vehicle.
The driver and passenger of the vehicle were arrested.
As a result of continued investigation, 25-year-old Tyra Bird and 24-year-old Faith Bird, both from La Ronge, are each charged with:
– one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking and
– one count, possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.
Faith Bird was also arrested on her outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.
They were scheduled to appear in La Ronge Provincial Court on January 31, 2025.
