RCMP state that this morning just before 3 a.m., File Hills First Nations Police Service received a report of a sudden death on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation.
Further investigation determined the death was suspicious in nature and Saskatchewan RCMP was notified.
Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes took over the investigation and is actively investigating the death of an adult male.
Mounties say they have not arrested or charged anyone at this point in the investigation.
Residents of Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation may notice an increased police presence as this investigation continues.
Updates will be provided as they become available and If investigation determines an imminent risk to public safety exists, RCMP will notify the public.
