Sunday flights to Saskatchewan’s far north from Prince Albert will be returning soon.

Rise Air, has announced the return of Sunday flights from the city’s airport to the northern communities of Fond du Lac, Stony Rapids, and Wollaston Lake.

“We’ve maintained a positive dialogue with the City of Prince Albert, and we appreciate their leadership in reopening the airport on Sundays,” Derek Nice, President and CEO, Rise Air was quoted in a media release on the matter.

The flights had been absence for four years.

Prince Albert Grand Chief Brian Hardlotte also expressed gratitude for the return of the flights to some of these PAGC communities.

“Our member communities in the Athabasca Basin have been asking for this Sunday service,” he said/ “They are happy to see its return.’

The flights will begin on May 5.
