Mounties state that on March 21, 2025 at approximately 1:20 a.m., RCMP officers from the La Ronge Crime Reduction Team, Critical Incident Response Team, and Southend Detachment executed a search warrant at residence on Atikosakahikan Street in Southend. 

While at the residence, officers arrested six individuals – three adult males and three adult females.

While searching the residence, officers say they located and seized a sawed-off shotgun, a rifle and ammunition. 

25-year-old Jonie Michel, and 20-year-old Pierre Morin, both from Southend, have each been charged with unsafe storage of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a prohibited firearm. 

 Michel is also facing two counts of possession of a firearm/ammunition when prohibited. Additionally, Morin is facing three counts of failing to comply with release order condition.

The four other individuals were released without charges.  

Jonie Michel and Pierre Morin made their first appearance in La Ronge Provincial Court on March 24, 2025
