Fond du Lac Hosts Economic Summit

A northern economic summit is underway in Fond du Lac today.

The two-day meeting will focus on some key projects facing the community.

One is the proposed creation of a windmill turbine to generate electricity on the First Nation.

Chief Napoleon Mercredi says they are preparing to talk with SaskPower about the project.

Meantime, the chief says the business plan for a fish processing plant is also in place and an architect will be on hand for today’s summit.

FSIN chief Guy Lonechild and officials from the PAGC are also expected to be on hand for the event.
