The water level at Cumberland Lake is expected to peak this Sunday or Monday, according to a provincial expert.

Saskatchewan Water Authority Spokesman Dale Hjertaas says it’s difficult to tell exactly when the peak will occur.

Hjertaas says the water rose seven centimeters today.

While the water is rising, the road to Cumberland House is open.

Doug Wakabayashi with Sask Highways says there are some restrictions.

The road had been closed due to flooding.

Portions of the road to Timber Bay, and Highway 2, from La Ronge to Prince Albert are closed or reduced to one lane due to water on the roads.
