A First Nations lawyer is excited to be joining the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission.

Paul Favel is originally from the Poundmaker First Nation and works in Saskatoon in corporate and commercial law.

He says he is humbled to have been appointed to the commission and is excited about some of the new avenues the commission is pursuing, such as education in the schools on citizenship rights and responsibilities.

Favel says the approach is more holistic because there isn’t just a focus on prosecuting complaints.
