An anti-nuclear waste group in the North wants to bring their message across Saskatchewan during a walk this summer.

The Committee for Future Generations plans to walk 820 kilometres from Pinehouse to Regina with a petition for Premier Brad Wall, requesting the permanent ban of nuclear waste storage and transportation of nuclear waste in the province.

The petition is in response to the Nuclear Waste Management Organization’s site selection process, which is looking at Pinehouse at the community’s request.

Max Morin is a committee member from Beauval and says they want to gather signatures along the way.

The walk will kick off on July 27 from Pinehouse.
