With the 2011 First Nation Summer Games at Thunderchild First Nation on the near horizon, the FSIN has awarded the 2013 Games to the Muskoday First nation.

With the games two years away, it gives organizers time to bring the event locations up to par.

Even with that time, Muskoday Community Services Director, Marvin Sanderson hopes to have all of the venues ready to go well in advance.

Muskoday First Nation is a small community so Sanderson says partners played a big part in the bid’s success.

The Muskoday bids beat out competing bids from Waterhen, La Ronge, Little Pine and George Gordon.

The 2011 Summer games are just a couple weeks away beginning August 6th.
