Trial Set for Police Officer Accused of Assault

A trial has been set for a Prince Albert police officer accused of assaulting a city resident.

 

George Neufeld will go before a judge on November 8th in Prince Albert provincial court.

 

The case is being handled by a Saskatoon prosecutor.

 

Neufeld is accused of assaulting a person in the city last year.

 

He is currently off-duty.

 

Meantime, a preliminary hearing was set for another police officer, also accused of assault.

 

The Crown is proceeding by indictment against Michael Ozar.

 

His case is scheduled for November 9th.

 

The Crown says it expects to call 3 to 5 witness in both matters.
