Man Tries To Scare Wildlife; Shoots Woman

Battlefords RCMP are continuing to investigate an incident in which a tourist from Denmark was accidentally shot Sunday.

 

The 22-year-old victim has been treated and released from hospital.

 

RCMP Sergeant Paul Dawson says it happened at while five adults were camping near the Battlefords.

 

“At approximately three in the morning one of the campers thought that an animal was approaching the campsite and wanted to scare it off.  The adult male allegedly discharged his firearm striking the camper, and that was the person treated in the hospital.”

 

A 26-year-old man was arrested, but later released.
