Prince Albert National Park is cleaning up after a fierce storm blew through the community last night.
Hail and strong winds overturned trees and pelted buildings in the community.
Miranda Robb works for the Waskesiu golf course.
She says the damage is extensive.
“Well I was actually in my cabin and windows were popping off my cabin and our car got completely destroyed. Hail was pretty much the size of baseballs and yeah, it was pretty bad.”
She adds shingles were ripped off cabins and debris is lying everywhere.
Robb knows some people who were hit by the hail but she says they are OK.
Last night’s wind storm also knocked out power to the Meadow Lake water treatment plant.
Meadow Lake City Manager Bruno Kossmann says that could make it awkward to fight fires.
He says if a fire occurs, firefighters might have to haul water from the reservoir, rather than pump it from fire hydrants.
It also means treated water can’t be produced for city residents until power is restored.
James Parker of Saskpower says 36 communities, from Lloydminster to Creighton suffered damage.
There’s so much the crown agency has hired private sector companies to help make repairs.
