Water Not Expected to Top Bridge

Saskatchewan Highways says it doesn’t expect water will flow over top the Montreal River Bridge in La Ronge.
Kirsten Leatherdale says although water has begun to creep onto the highway north of the bridge, it would have to get much deeper to get up to the bridge deck.
She adds the department can also erect a temporary bridge if needed.
The rising water has emergency officials in the La Ronge area making plans.
La Ronge EMS Operations Manager Cory Ecarnot says steps will be taken to ensure no parts of the region are without ambulance service.
Ecarnot says if travel on the bridge and highway are not possible, boats can be used to transport patients over to the north side of the Montreal River.
