Annual Woodland Cree Gathering Begins Today

The annual Woodland Cree Gathering kicked off this morning at the Stanley Mission historic site.
The Lac La Ronge Indian Band is hosting the event, and the theme this year is “Retaining Our History and Culture”.
Prince Albert Grand Council Grand Chief Ron Michel spoke at the opening ceremonies and says it’s an important event for this region.
Events run until Thursday and include music, a fish derby and boat tours.
