Students Raise Tipi At Saskatchewan College

A group of students from Parkdale College in Fort Qu’Appelle created their own sacred space on campus today.

A tipi-raising was held this morning after students from the Grades 10-12 Adult Basic Education class decided to bring their traditional teachings to life.

Spokesman Brendan Wagner says the students worked very hard to make their own tipi.

Wagner says three women travelled to Hudson Bay to gather, cut and peel 15 tipi poles over the summer.

A feast took place over the noon hour.
