A man originally charged with aggravated assault in a sudden death in Regina this past weekend is now facing a charge of second-degree murder.
Regina police say the charge against 40-year-old Fergus Standingready was amended after a coroner completed an autopsy into the cause of city resident Seydou Camara’s death.
The body of the 43-year-old victim was found in the backyard of a Regina residence shortly after noon on Sunday.
Standingready is making a court appearance on the new charge today.
Police are urging anyone who may have information that could assist in the investigation to contact them or Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers.
