A judge has warned a 25-year-old Thunderchild First Nation man that he could end up being jailed for life if he offends again.

Yesterday, Judge Kim Young sentenced Eric Patrick Cook to four years in jail for several charges, including aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

Cook was orginally charged with attempted murder after a man was shot in the leg April 29th — but pleaded guilty to aggravated assault.

He also pleaded guilty to assault with a weapon for stabbing a man.

Young noted Cook has 38 prior convictions, and is an admitted gang member.

The judge said if Cook comes back before the courts again, he could be labelled a dangerous or long-term offender and jailed indefinitely.
