Call Made To Help Disabled Victims Of Car Crashes

A long-time northern advocate for people with disabilities says better services are needed for the disabled who are injured in car accidents.
Gary Tinker says many disabled people don’t know their rights and are afraid to speak out.
Tinker says issues like language, isolation and poor roads add to the frustration of people with disabilities.
He held a news conference in La Ronge yesterday to call for more compassion on the part of medical, legal and insurance company employees.
Athabasca MLA Buckley Belanger was there to support Tinker and says the responsibility for change is in the hands of provincial government officials.
Tinker was injured in a rollover in northern Saskatchewan last October.
